This morph is the sibling of testudineus, and demonstrates the three linked characteristics of a pseudo, jeweled tip, purple parietal and a color shift toward tan. All other characteristics, and its range, are as testudineus.
The pink tips on Brickell shells are often quite pale. The pink tips on these shell, pale though it may be, extend for at least two whorls, placing the shell as a variety of the testudineus group. Shells actually collected in Brickell were also generally more convex and light in weight, with the associated thin straight columella. Compare the above with the planted shells below.
